Luxury Group is a curated collection of hotels and resorts, operating since 1998 under a clear proposition: a passion for luxury hotels, and a collection of the world’s finest properties.

The engagement spanned several distinct projects rather than a single build. Work covered the main website, a separate mobile site, and the administration area — three related but different problems. The public site had to sell aspiration. The mobile site had to work for travellers who were already moving. The administration area had to let staff manage a portfolio of partner properties without developer involvement every time something changed.

That last piece is the least visible and often the most valuable. A hotel collection is not static: partner properties join and leave, imagery is refreshed, featured selections rotate seasonally. If every change requires a developer, the site slowly falls out of date because updating it is too much friction. Building a usable administration layer is what keeps a site like this current years after launch.

A prominent book-direct message runs through the site, which reflects a real commercial pressure in hospitality. Online travel agencies take a significant share of every booking they broker, so driving direct reservations materially affects what a property actually earns. Making that call to action unmissable is a business decision expressed as a design one.

The structure supports both browsing and finding: featured hotels for the visitor open to inspiration, and partner hotel listings for someone with a destination already in mind. The build carries a large photography set, which is non-negotiable in luxury hospitality — the imagery is the product.

This project is presented from an archived capture. The archive link is a design reference and is not a live booking site.

Sustaining a collection site over time is largely a content problem rather than a design one. Properties are added and retired, seasonal imagery is refreshed, and featured selections change — and each of those is a small task that becomes an obstacle if it requires outside help. Investing in the administration layer was what allowed the collection to stay current between design cycles.
