SCHORISCH Gruppe

The SCHORISCH Gruppe is a German industrial group operating through two competence centres: electronic assemblies, and steel plant and hydraulic steel engineering. The brief was to bring a group site up to date across a portfolio of substantial and visually impressive industrial work.

The structural challenge with a holding company is that the group site has to do a job the subsidiary sites cannot. SCHORISCH Elektronik and SCHORISCH Stahlbau each serve their own customers with their own technical requirements, and each maintains a distinct presence. The group site’s role is to explain the shared capability and intelligent networking of competencies that makes the whole worth more than its parts, and then to route visitors to the right competence centre quickly rather than trying to sell both to everyone.

The most distinctive part of the engagement was technical rather than editorial. The site was brought up to date with 360° virtual reality tours and drone videography, alongside an entirely rebuilt portfolio. For heavy industry, this is a genuinely appropriate use of the medium rather than novelty. Steel plant and hydraulic steel engineering happens at a scale that conventional photography cannot convey — a still image of a large installation gives no sense of its size. Drone footage establishes scale, and VR tours let a prospective client walk a facility they would otherwise have to travel to see.

Supporting sections cover the group background, certifications, news, downloads, careers, and contact, with an English-language section alongside the German original. Certifications and downloads carry particular weight in industrial procurement, where technical documentation and accreditation are part of the qualification process.

Maintaining a bilingual industrial site introduces an ongoing obligation that is easy to underestimate: every substantive update has to exist in both languages, or the English section quietly falls behind and stops being trustworthy. Structuring the site so translated content sits alongside the German original, rather than in a separate parallel site, keeps that maintenance burden manageable.
